i forgot how much i love carousels. they are absolutely beautiful. and don't they just transport you back to a different world? this carousel at the como zoo was made in 1914, and all 68 horses were hand-carved and painted by german immigrants. talk about talent. 

for a dollar fifty, it's definitely worth the detour from the zoo. not to mention that people over 90 always ride for free, there are a few days in the summer when it is free for everyone, and it can accommodate a wheelchair. it's the little things that show dedication to a community :)
